Safe Mailroom Operations

Versar provides engineering design, consulting, environmental health and safety, construction and operations in support of mail processing operations for Federal and commercial clients. Our services include:

Safe Design

Engineering Analysis & Design Services include feasibility studies of alternative measures to harden structures, modify HVAC systems, and secure computers, data and communications networks and to modify operations to mitigate potential adverse impacts due to explosions and releases of toxic and dangerous material on personnel, and loss of critical operations including protected data and communications systems important to sustaining business operations. Versar provides full design services to strengthen structures, to alter HVAC systems to contain releases of explosives, chemical or biological agent, and radioactive material and to provide for disaster recovery for computer, data, and communications networking. Safe Construction

Versar will enter into design build agreements to implement design modifications or we will oversee construction as required to ensure all work is performed to design specifications for this specialty work. Versar will remediate damages resulting from a natural disaster or terrorist events including the full scope of environmental and occupational risk management. Special areas of expertise include Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), released during a fire, and asbestos from building fireproofing systems. Versar will also restore facilities and equipment according to design specifications. Versar can perform these services as part of a design-build contract agreement:

Safe Operations

Business Practices Assessment - Assessment and recommendations for modifying business practices to reduce threats from chemical and biological concerns, including mail and package handling, processes, emergency plans, evacuation planning, and protection of personnel.

Fire Protection/Sprinkler Assessments - Assessment of the various fire protection systems and their reliability, maintainability and availability during an incident will ensure that you are prepared. We can also develop non-aqueous based systems for computer or other high-value assets.

Backup Generator Systems - Versar can provide turnkey services for assessment, specification, design, installation and maintenance of uninterrupted power supply systems, including generation sets, Uninterrupted Power Supplies and Continuous Power Systems.

Physical Security And Intrusion Detection System Assessments - Versar's consultants can assess your physical security system, and develop assessment of your existing intrusion detection system, and the need for upgrades.
